1- your first visit to Rome !

and you are willing to stay 3 days, then we advise you to buy the ROMA PASS ,  costs 36,00 Euro for 1 person , you can purchase it online or from any kiosk or Tabacco shop , it will offer you access to use all pubblic transportations ( Tram, Bus, Subway  )for 3 days ,it expires at 23:59 of the 3rd day plus free access to 2 Museums and / or archaelogical sites .

In case your visit to Rome is brief, just 2 days then we advise you to purchase  the Roma Pass 48 , it costs Euro 28,00  it will offer a free access to all pubblic transportation(Tram, Bus, Subway)  for 48 hours  ( expires on 23:59 of the second day) plus 1 free access to Museum or archaeological site and our tip to you is to use it for the Colosseum and make the other day for the Vatican City

PS: Remember that the Vatican City is another country even it is located inside Italy and the ROMA PASS doesn't work there.

2-Last Sunday of each month , the Sistine Chapel ( Vatican Museum) is open for free !

The 1st Sunday of the month FREE access to alll museums in Rome !!

Every Thursday at 20:00 FREE access to Villa Medici! 

3- Purchasing the tickets at the Vaticans Museum is cheaper it costs 16,00 Euro especially if you intend to go there early in the morning  or to visit it in the Low Season ( November, Dicember, January, February ) so waiting in the queues won't take too much time, while purchasing the ticket online costs 20,00 Euro but you will have access at the time that suites you. 4,00 Euro you can reward yourself a big glass of wine :)

4- Remember that the Colosseum and the Vatican City has time table , so make sure to see them first, while you can always have free access to visit the Trevi Fountain around the clock ! same for all main squares like Piazza Navona or Campo dei Fiori ...

4-If you have an Italian Sim Card , then you can have FREE  Internet access up to 04 hours daily RomaWirless hotspots are all over in Rome ! www.digitroma.it

5-You can always buy an Italian Sim card mobile ( Wind, Tim, Vodafone, Postmobile, 3) for 10,00 Euros, the sim card will be valid for 1 year ! and it will have a credit of 5 Euros !

6- In case you want to buy a Pizza, remember that the price is always cheaper in case you want a Take Away Pizza !! The listed rates at the restaurants it is for a pizza at the table (with service!)

7- Empty your MiniBar at your hotel or you bed and breakfast, go to any supermarket and buy whatever you like, it will be always cheaper !

8- going to Pompei from Termini Station could be very cheap if you take the Regional train to Naples ! it costs only 11,20 euro ! the journey takes  around 2 hours only and there are trains at 08:14 and 10:36 a.m  while if you take the fast trains TAV ( High Speep Trains) the journey takes betwene 1 hour and 1 hour and half but the rate will be 26,00 and 43,00 Euros second class !!

9-Going to Milan or Firenze from Rome could be cheaper sometimes on Italotreno ,compare prices between Italo treno and Tranitalia and save money between 10% and 30%

10- Save money and avoid fine by parking your car in Rome but outside the ZTL, Zone Traffic Limit so you can avoid any fine , 24 euro only for 24 hours !

11- You don't have to buy water as the water from  the Tap in your B & B is potable !

12- Travel agencies charge your B&B or your Hotel a very High commission so contact your Hotel and book directly  with your Hotel is they offer you a 10% discount !
